Advanced Helicopter Concepts has operated at Frederick Municipal Airport (KFDK) since 1987, serving as a primary helicopter training option for students in the Baltimore-Washington corridor. The school is located at 330 Aviation Way in Frederick, Maryland — about 50 miles from Baltimore, a practical commute for students in the greater Baltimore metro area who want to train in less congested airspace than what surrounds Martin State or BWI. Helicopter training is the school's core focus, with both Robinson R22 and R44 aircraft in the fleet. Programs cover the full certification ladder: Private Pilot (Helicopter), Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, CFI-H, and CFII-H. Fixed-wing training is offered as well through the same facility and instructors. The school partners with the Community College of Baltimore County's Aviation Management Department, enabling students to pursue an aviation degree or certificate program alongside their flight training.
