The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Aviation Program is a regional program in the Mid-Atlantic that provides classroom and simulator instruction at CCBC Catonsville. CCBC partners with local flight training centers to offer hands-on flight training, giving students flexibility in choosing a flight school based on location, instructor, or aircraft type. CCBC has been training Aviation Professionals for over 40 years. The college is located near major aviation hubs like Baltimore-Washington and Philadelphia, offering students internship and job opportunities. CCBC offers six Associate of Applied Science degrees, including Professional Pilot (Airplane, Helicopter, and Unmanned Aircraft Systems), Air Traffic Control, Aircraft Dispatcher, and Flight Operations Management. They also offer aviation certificate programs in areas like Air Traffic Control, Aviation Management, and Flight Attendant. The Professional Pilot programs prepare graduates for commercial pilot certificates with flight instructor credentials, making them employable in the aviation industry. CCBC's programs can qualify graduates for a reduction in flight hours for the Restricted Airline Transport Pilot certificate (R-ATP). CCBC is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and is a member of the University Aviation Association and the Association of Collegiate Training Institutions. The college accepts outside aviation scholarships and veteran benefits to help students with tuition costs. CCBC works with flight training affiliates, allowing flexibility in completing flight training.
