About Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Aviation Technology Department

The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Aviation Technology Department offers comprehensive aviation programs and has been training aviation professionals since 1974. Located near the Baltimore-Washington and Philadelphia regions, students benefit from internship and job opportunities at nearby airports and air traffic control facilities. The department provides a range of FAA-approved airplane and helicopter professional pilot courses, including Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, Flight Instructor, and Multi-Engine Instructor. CCBC works with several flight training affiliates, offering students flexibility in completing their flight training. CCBC offers six Associate of Applied Science degree programs, including Air Traffic Control, Aircraft Dispatcher, Flight Operations Management, and Professional Pilot (Airplane, Helicopter, and Unmanned Aircraft Systems). They also provide credit certificate programs in Air Traffic Control, Aviation Management, Flight Attendant, and Flight Training. The Air Traffic Control program is an FAA Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI) program. Flight training courses are approved under FAA Part 141. CCBC is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and is a member of the University Aviation Association and the Association of Collegiate Training Institutions. Online program options are available for flexible learning. The college also accepts veteran benefits, including the GI Bill, and offers various aviation scholarships.
