About Cub Air Flight
Cub Air Flight, located at the Hartford Municipal Airport in Hartford, Wisconsin, was founded in 2006 by Steve and Sharon Krog. The flight school operates with the philosophy that "old school is still cool," utilizing vintage Piper J3 Cub aircraft for instruction. Cub Air Flight believes that these classic airplanes demand more attention and flying skill, ultimately making better pilots. They consider flying a vintage airplane as much an art as it is a science. The school aims to introduce prospective pilots to the joy of flight at an affordable cost. Primary flight training is conducted in the Piper J3 Cub, an aircraft in which many pilots learned to fly. The Piper J-3 Cub is an American light aircraft that was built between 1938 and 1947 by Piper Aircraft. The Cub's simple and lightweight design gives it good low-speed handling properties and short-field performance. Cub Air Flight offers courses of training leading to the Private Pilot's Licence (PPL) and instrument ratings. They also offer familiarization/differences training for tail wheel aircraft. The school has a dedicated team of instructors, many of whom come from airline or corporate jet backgrounds, while others are experienced general aviation pilots. Steve Krog is the Owner/Operator and a Flight Instructor (CFI). Bob Lussow is the Chief Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI, ATP).
